characteristic elements that appear in every gesture of the sculptor throughout every stage of the sculpture.
- The “roughing out” phase then takes place, necessary for creating the correct volumes and proportions. - The last phase is the “finishing”, where hammer and chisel are used to form the carvings and create the expressions.
The naturally white stone can be “coated” using different finishing methods which add that particularly admirable antique aura to the sculpted works that adorn the gardens of Palladian villas. |
